Mountain range is a chain of mountains bordered by highlands or separated form other mountains by passes or valleys. Mountain range is a grouping of mountain, and a area that cover more than 500,000 sq. meters. Individual mountains within the same mountain range do not necessarily have the same geology, they often do, they may be a mix of different orogeny, for example volcanoes, uplifted mountains or fold mountains and may therefore be a different rocks. The Himalayas Range contain the world's highest mountain on the Earth's surface, which is Mount Everest. The world's longest mountain range is Ocean Ridge.
